“The endless corridor doesn’t have an exit, but you still ran and ran. I’m chasing you, Cassidy. I am chasing you, my now dear rival. If you don’t know how to smile and laugh again… and that you are doubting me, it is a sheer symbol that you are the next one in danger.”
Note: Chapter focuses on Cassidy and Halinor.
Thud. It was a satisfactory sound for something so unsatisfactory in almost every way. It was snowing outside and everyone was delighted. Everyone but Halinor. Sliding down until she sat, her back slumped against the shiny surface of her locker, and it totally lacked comfort. Her eyes were exceptionally icy today, absorbing everything, but seeing nothing. She tried to immolate her current feeling, but somehow, she just can’t do it. She clenched her head, trying to relax. There was just some form of ultimate anger in her. Nerissa, Cassidy, Yan Lin, and Kadma can’t understand why Halinor has a great record of absences and tardiness nowadays. She was even acting so whimsically lately. If you’re so curious, she is not an honor student anymore like she consistently is. Sheffield Institute is very keen and stern when it comes to checking the students’ attendance. Vying to be like Halinor isn’t as easy as it seems. She is even in the brink of being frustrated now. Don’t you know that she was absent for one week and was always late the week after that? Nerissa considered Halinor as one of her problems already.
